A Place for Everyone
Welcome to The Purple Bird in the Middle, based in West Michigan. We're building a community where unity and freedom thrive. If you don't feel quite at home with the Republican or Democratic party, you've found your flock. Join us for open discussions, community building, and fresh ideas to care for our planet and each other.
Purple is what happens when red and blue meet—not in conflict, but in unity. And that is what we stand for.
About Us
Purple Bird in the Middle is a community for anyone who feels politically homeless—those who don’t see themselves fully in red or blue, but instead find themselves somewhere in the middle. We believe there is strength, clarity, and dignity in refusing to be boxed into extremes. That “middle” isn’t a place of confusion; it’s a place of courage.
Our symbol, the Purple Martin—the largest swallow in North America—captures our heartbeat. Its iridescent plumage reflects many colors at once, just as our community brings together people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and life experiences. Each color shines on its own, but together they create something even more beautiful: a unified stand against division.
At Purple Bird in the Middle, we choose connection over conflict, curiosity over tribalism, and unity over polarized thinking. We are the voices that refuse to be divided. We are the ones building something new, something hopeful, and something deeply human—together.
